Open source update, #Drupal for #NixOS now has a new package updater script that picks the latest release from the Update Status XML API (https://www.drupal.org/drupalorg/docs/apis/update-status-xml), and the caddy webserver implementation that comes with the Drupal service will use HTTPS by default. You'll still need to install your own certs, however.
