I wish she could have seen this farm we live at now, she would have loved to terrorize the groundhogs im sure I always imagined she would live here with me, but part of me always knew she might not make it. It was heart breaking leaving her behind in our old backyard but I know a piece of her is still with me, she was exactly who I needed when I needed unconditional love

Buddy is officially in Palliative Care now. He got lots of pain medication, a shot and IV today at the vet so he feels a lot better. His hips are going. He's got a lot of pain in his back legs, but he still wants to be with us and so the vet says he is not suffering constantly yet. We can give him pain medication and for appetite to keep him going maybe a week maybe a couple weeks.

He has only eaten maybe 6 meals out of 28 in last two weeks. Lost 4 pounds in this last month and it shows. He turned down all his favorite treats. When he turned down bacon I got our appointment. We did find out he will eat a cooked hamburger patty! Prime beef. At 15 now he’s got all the symptoms he won’t live much longer. I’m glad to try Palliative care for him.

Kengo started barking and I checked to find our doe friend (who I found out has eaten hydrangea and lily...but she has to survive) was visiting us again.
After a review of the photo, I found a firefly on a petal. They have been flying actively close to sunset.

I’m sitting on my back porch with Guapo, my rescue dog. A squirrel passed by on top of the wooden fence. Guapo typically chases such intruders, eliciting scolding from them. Today he decided it is too hot to give chase and jump against the fence below an unreachable adversary. #DogsOfMastodon #Dogs #RescueDogs #Squirrels

Summer woke up too early today.
Even though tired she has been good about helping me with the housework. She is particularly fond of sorting laundry.
Now that's it time to fold mountains of towels and the like she wants to curl up all warm next to me and sleep.
Sadly for her cuddling up next to me doesn't produce her desired restful state.
I have no self control when she is all warm, soft and sweet smelling. I just have to scritch, smother her with kisses and otherwise pester her with love.
Lucky for both of us she puts up with me. Now that she understands cause and effect she might decide to nap elsewhere when I'm folding laundry.
Summer is irresistible.

1. After 4 years of encouraging the growth of white clover over grass, I have finally achieved more than 50% clover in my backyard. (photo attached)

2. My dog is often fearful of what lurks in our tiny backyard--usually bunnies and robins. But today, she pranced out there like a fearless champ! (photo attached)

3. My mini wildflower meadows are blooming. It will last through Autumn, with different flowers emerging over time. (photo attached)
