If a dimension is a degree of freedom then would time be half a dimension? So then we live in 3.5 dimensions?

You can move two ways in every spatial dimension, but only one way in time. You *do* have the freedom to change how fast you move forward in time, but not which direction. So it is a partial degree of freedom.

The fact that you can only go one way in time is pretty much the only thing that makes it different from a spatial dimension.
