Sometimes I think about what it would be like to travel the world by bike & living a nomadic life

Life would for once primarily be about

moving,

breathing fresh air,

being soaking wet by the rain,

drying in the sun,

sweating,

searching for water, food & shelter,

sleeping under the stars,

getting lost on your way,

asking people for help,

improvising when things go bad,

making new friends,

learning about new places & cultures,

fundraising money for people in need of help,

living a modest life on the move

Yet, for now, I’ll not go for it. The desire to live as a full time nomad is—amongst others—part of illusional self-deception. You can’t escape capitalism. Societal and personal issues will follow your path and catch up with you at some point. Depression will kick in after some months, this far too familiar feeling of emptiness will not miraculously go away.
Or, as Adorno once wrote:
Theodor W. Adorno, „Prinzessin Eidechse“, in: Minima Moralia (1946/47)
There are things I have to and want to experience before eventually leaving Europe. There are times to do things and not do others. Instead of traveling full time I’ll work on subjects my intellectual interest encompasses for the next 3 years
Stay tuned, take it slow, and be part of team 161
