I just updated to #opencloud 3.0.
On the way, I added #radicale, the #caldav #carddav #calendar server. Will report about its quality. Disclaimer: I Have been using Radicale for a while, standalone, but I want to benefit from the docker integration and the work of the opencloud guys... :-) (just remove the "#" in the .env file's "RADICALE=" line) #opensource #linux

Die gratis 8Gb is voor mij meer dan genoeg en is vooral bedoeld voor bestands uitwisseling. De upload via 5G is nou eenmaal niet zo snel.

Now whose genius idea was it to limit calendar event colors to precisely the named colors of CSS in RFC7986, which were never intended as a sole palette because CSS also supports hex colors?

(Explicitly *not* blaming the author here; this probably comes from legacy systems and was reviewed by any number of people that could have caught it.)

Hat wer Erfahrungen mit #nextcloud #carddav und Kalender Anhängen? Klicke ich auf #iOS darauf, erscheint erst eine Meldung, ob ich sicher bin, dass ich Anhänge von einem externen Server laden will und nach Bestätigung die nächste, dass es fehlgeschlagen ist.

Ich würde gerne komplett von Google und iCloud zu #Nextcloud umziehen – auch bei den Kontakten.
Aber: In iOS kann man Nextcloud-Kontakte offenbar nicht als Standardaccount festlegen.
Nextcloud via #CardDAV wird zwar eingebunden, aber nicht als Standard anerkannt.
Stimmt das wirklich – oder kennt jemand einen Workaround?

alles in allem eine Gelungene Sache, die Tools die sie zur Verfügung stellen funktionieren einwandfrei.
Migration von EMails, Kalender und Kontakten durchgeführt. Dies mit 2 Accounts und 2 Domains.
Hab nun mal mit dem Thunderbird als Outlook Ersatz gestartet, auch aufm Mobile. Bezüglich #CalDav und #CardDav habe ich ne Steile lernkurve hinter mir (https://infosec.exchange/@hosebei/114331150280919695).
Aufm Mobile bin ich nun mit DAVx5 sehr zufrieden, macht was es soll.
Offen ist nun noch die PSTN anbindung, aber das eilt ja nicht.

Seit wann kann man im GNOME Desktop per CalDAV ein "Online Konto" anlegen?
Gerade durch Zufall entdeckt, ich hatte es bereits aufgegeben.

Problem mit #kolab und #roundcube: Bei #CardDAV gehen die Kategorien verloren.

Wenn ich vCards 3.0 über Roundcube importiere mit "Gruppenzuordnungen importieren: Alle (erstellen wenn nötig)", dann werden die Kategorien als Gruppen fein angelegt. Und wenn ich sie über Roundcube exportiere sind die Kategorien da.
Aber wenn ich mit CardBook dann auf das Adressbuch zugreife, bekomme ich keine Kategorien. (Probiert mit vCard-Format 3.0 und 4.0.)

Hat jemand Ideen, wie man das lösen könnte?

Leider ist das System beim Provider, so dass ich nicht selbst an der Konfig spielen kann.

Yes, I know there is #davx5 for #Android. I used it for #Fastmail calendar and contacts sync, but it just doesn’t feel stable enough for such a critical data.

Hat wer Tipps für #CardDAV bei #iOS und #SynologyNAS?

Irgendwie will es nicht synchronisieren bei mir.

TIL or relearned that the #Cyrus mailserver I use for decades can also act as #caldav and #carddav server. Even #webdav is supported all including its acl system. @davx5app works instant but as stated otherwise my #iphone from which I want to migrate does not connect. So plan B is to connect #davx5 to icloud and migrate that way. Am stil wondering what I'm doing wrong nevertheless

I'm looking for a way to #backup my calendars and contacts (via #CalDAV and #CardDAV), but `vdirsyncer` is kind of a pain when a calendar or address book is added/removed and requires tedious manual intervention each time.

Is there a simpler/better tool for automated backups?

Today I boosted my #selfhosting #services with #nfs, teaming up with #adblock, #caldav, #carddav, #cgit, #httpd, #vnstat, #openntpd

I think I’ll be settling with #Baikal as my #CalDAV and #CardDAV server. Got it running now. Took a bit to add the accounts to macOS and iOS. Imported my Google Calendar archive which went mostly OK.

Now for my Calendar and Contacts I can get rid of Google. My account there now will only be for YouTube.

One less dependency on big tech!
