Van 2 activisten werd een arm gebroken en van een andere een hand. Dit is voor vele pro-Palestina activisten die aanwezig waren helaas de zoveelste keer dat zij zulk verregaand geweld meemaken. Wij zijn een een breder patroon van onderdrukking: steeds harder optreden van politie en justitie, en het criminaliseren van vreedzame demonstraties door politici, die de politie als knokploeg voor hun eigen politieke agenda inzetten. Van Halsema tot Schouten tot het kabinet. </p><p>Wij roepen daarom op om om naar het Malieveld te komen om 6 Juli om 13:00 om te eisen dat dit geweld per direct stopt. De politie moet demonstraties faciliteren, niet criminaliseren. </p><p>~</p><p><em>We too are outraged and deeply shocked by the extreme police violence during the A12 blockade on June 25. An arm was broken from 2 activists and a hand from another. This is unfortunately yet another time for many pro-Palestine activists who were present to experience such excessive violence. We recognize a broader pattern of repression: increasingly harsh police and judicial action, and the criminalization of peaceful demonstrations by politicians, who use the police as thugs for their own political agendas. From Halsema to Schouten to the cabinet.</em></p><p><em>We therefore call on you to come to the Malieveld on July 6 at 13:00 to demand that this brutality stops immediately. The police are supposed to facilitate demonstrations, not criminalize them.</em></p>

According to Israeli military sources quoted by the Jerusalem Post, the armed forces are contemplating a clear scenario: if the flotilla passengers refuse to turn around at the request of the IDF, a naval commando, Shayete 13, could be deployed to board the boat and take control to arrest passengers there, including Rima Hassan and Greta Thunberg.

At the time, Israeli soldiers killed nine Flotilla militants wishing to reach Gaza, including eight Turkish citizens and one American-Turkish, in international waters. A cynically condemned attack on the international scene and by the leaders of the imperialist States, without withdrawing their support for Israel's colonial and murderous policies.
"That Israel now plans to reuse the same unit to intercept the Madleen demonstrates the continuity of a warlike and repressive logic. It is not a police operation, but a demonstration of military force against civilians armed with food, medicine and political demands. The reflection of the heroism of the crew members on board the ship which unmasks all the cowardice and cynicism of #ColonialViolence.
"In the face of this threat of military aggression, defending the flotilla is defending the right to solidarity, it is to refuse the erasure of Gaza behind the barbed wires of a criminal blockade and the deafening media silence on the ongoing massacres. The courage of the Madleen passengers must be a lever to move forward in the construction of a powerful international solidarity movement, in which the workers’ movement has a central role to play, as the Fos-sur-Mer dockworkers have shown on Wednesday. This is the only way to stop the genocidal machine at work, supported by our leaders."
