Ned YeungRight now, I'm just trying to wrap my head around Danielle Smith making AHS workers pay (perhaps hundreds?) of dollars for COVID vaccine shots even when they are working on the front-lines, and how that correlates with their right to refuse unsafe work under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.In the US, they pay over $300/dose for boosters, without public funding like what is happening to Alberta.The Alberta Government says the cost of procurement is $110/dose, but I'm sure they'll add in all the administration and delivery costs on top of that.Considering how closely Danielle Smith follows and copies everything from US Republicans and their red states, I'm sure we should be looking at a similar fee of around $300/dose.This is a huge barrier to the personal protection and safety of workers in face-to-face healthcare situations, not to mention anybody who deals with the public on a daily basis. Especially with our government's ongoing cuts to public services, secret mandates on wage bargaining, and refusal to pay wages that keep up with the cost of living.
