Swede’s Photographs<p>Good morning. 🌺🐝🪖</p><p>2 July 2025</p><p>I was just looking at my work shirt, tossed haphazardly over the back of the side chair in my office, when it struck me how much its color resembles the old Marine and Army uniforms—fatigues or utilities, depending on your branch. You say sea bag, I say duffle bag (tuh-MAT-toe, tuh-MAH-toe). The sight stirred memories. Back then, those uniforms were cotton, and in garrison we’d starch them stiff, pressing in razor-sharp creases. We looked sharp in our starched OD green, paired with spit-shined black boots that gleamed like patent leather. Later, the Army issued similar-looking garments made of newer “wash-and-wear” materials, but old habits die hard—we kept starching them anyway. It wasn’t until the mid-1980s that the camouflage-patterned BDUs began to make their way into our wardrobes.</p><p>“Wearing a uniform is a daily affirmation of our chosen path.” - unknown</p><p><a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/morning" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>morning</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/uniform" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>uniform</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/olivedrab" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>olivedrab</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/military" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>military</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/flower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>flower</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/photo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>photo</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>photography</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/photographer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>photographer</span></a></p>
