Is there any way to prevent the 'standard' text editors 'mousepad', 'pluma' or 'gedit' from ever using tabs?
Even though 'mousepad' has a 'new tabs in new window' option it doesn't work when opening a new file from caja.
Can you recommend an alternative text editor where one doesn't have to perform a song and dance just to get it to open EVERY new file in a new window?

That might be it, yeah. I remember I tried to get into it a bit towards the early stages of using neural nets for stuff (edge detection, OCR, basic audio synthesis), but schoolwork got in the way, and when next I tried, anything that could teach me the theory behind them was drowned out by a million techbros showing off how they've replaced voice actors and writers and even artists maybe, which… discouraged me from looking more into it.
So I guess in my mind, the legitimate uses for LLMs and related tech is still stuck in early 15.ai and captcha image recognition training, where they're cool concepts but too heavy and slow for anything more than a novelty.

I guess? I mean, sure, it's a neat toy, like a Markov chain generator on steroids, I just don't see the use of it aside from maybe inspiring someone to do actual research into a quirk of linguistics.
Neural nets in general can be good for analysis of large data sets (assuming you mind your biases - which is a big assumption), but LLMs seem pretty limited outside of their present use as coherent-sounding autocomplete.
