Facebook's "fact-checking" review and appeals process is insanely bad. I'd have sent anyone who wrote policy this ridiculous for retraining.

I posted the same post as I posted here about Hunter Biden's Laptop ( https://infosec.exchange/@lorry/114741328048838021 ) as a partly satirical and partly informative post on what those MAGA nutjobs are saying - And I got a strike for posting misinformation.

I appealed, and was told instantly that my appeal was rejected - Both of the messages Facebook sent to me pointed at a misinformation page that was nothing to do with this which is even weirder:

Is the link they say explains why this Hunter Biden laptop post is wrong.

I was told:
"A reviewer from our team checked your post again.
They found information that fact checkers say is missing context."

The post clearly has a whole load of context, it explains the reason for the post clearly. This crap needs nuance, or it's just removing the ability to flag misinformation by flagging it as misinformaiton.

Bluetooth headsets these days is great, but I have two big peeves with them.

Pet peeve #1 with #Bluetooth… seems headsets operate in one of two modes:

1. full-duplex mono (HSP)
2. uni-directional stereo (A2DP)

There's no such thing in the official Bluetooth spec as A2DP with a microphone back-channel, so anything that interfaces with a headset has to do a silly switch between stereo and mono modes, which is fine for a phone, but cumbersome on a computer. It's also a non-starter for some games: a lot of games on the Half-Life engine do in-game voice chat, but you still want stereo to hear directions of sounds.

The saving grace is that at least now with mSBC CODEC, your microphone doesn't sound like an early 90s GSM phone. That was a third gripe that thankfully is no longer.

Peeve #2, it seems mixing analogue and Bluetooth is a mortal sin. I'd love two things:

1. a little dongle that I can plug my WIRED headset into, that operates in full-duplex mode, and allows that headset to function as Bluetooth
2. a similar dongle that I can plug my non-Bluetooth-enabled radio/computer/whatever into, and interface it to a Bluetooth headset. (i.e. it presents a mock 16ohm speaker stereo audio input and a mock high-impedance microphone output to "look" like a wired headset)

(1) because sometimes you need a headset that is a particular form factor, which is easier to get in wired form… but you then want to connect it to something that talks Bluetooth.

(2) because I have things like two-way radios and computers that don't do Bluetooth, but it'd be handy to use with such a headset.

Maybe I'm just strange.

I've had my meds stolen a few times before staying in shelters and group homes.

I understand it's doctor's jobs to question stuff and make sure the patient really needs something.

However it does annoy me every time I end up going to an urgent care, or new primary care doctor to refill/replace my medications and they take one look at my mythical dose of #GabAPentin and go "are you really sure you need that much?" and I have to explain why it's that high.

I may have found myself in a conflict of interest.

I was trying to do some research on LA Diner, the place that just hired me as part of an opening crew.

I only found info relating to a diner #elonmusk is trying to open.

It has all the same descriptions - 24 hours, on Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood, throwback diner, opening soon.

Could also be a coincidence.

I also may have accidentally taken a job working for someone I've posted 50+ hate videos about.

Du kannst nicht einfach sagen „Drei ist kleiner!“ Also kannst du schon, aber das ist halt semantisch Blödsinn – insofern, paßt zu Werbung: da ist ständig irgendwas besser, moderner, intensiver, … aber äußerst selten wird gesagt als was. Allenfalls wird mir erzählt es sei besser als früher, was überhaupt nichts über den Vergleich mit andern Produkten sagt. Aber dafür wird ja der Sticker der Stiftung Warentest geschickt genutzt.

My #dental future looks a bit uncomfortable.

In the next month or two I am going to have-

1 root canal, 3 wisdom teeth removed, and two bridges put in.

Then later some implants when I can afford it and have better insurance.

Though it'll be nice to not have my molars constantly in pain, and wishing I could take more ibuprofen.

Part of the reason I lost so much weight was from eating causing me pain.
