After defeating the Titans with the Golden Axe, Death Adder seizes the weapon to terrorize the world. Three heroes set out to stop him and rescue the king and his daughter. Players can charge special magical abilities by collecting potions from small creatures.

So, if you have ever been curious about Golden Axe Warrior, because of the screenshots and the little rambles I have gone on about it, and wanted to see more. I have been doing a Let's Play of the game. This is a non-blind run of the game, and probably the third time I have played through it in the space of about a month.

This is by no means an optimal run, and there are plenty of mistakes and fails that I make throughout. But, if you wanted to give the game a play yourself and would like to get an idea of what you are in for, by all means, check it out!

If you'd rather wait for the playlist and watch the entire run, that will be available next Tuesday, 24th June. Providing that I actually record and upload the final episode...

What I assumed was going to be a 3 - or 4-part run turned into a 6 part stumble.

Christ, #VGMWednesday just rolls in so quickly these days.

Today, I want to show a game that hijacked my attention, and I spent a good couple of days chipping away at.

Golden Axe Warrior for #MasterSystem is a weird game, a top-down adventure RPG very very VERY similar to the NES Zelda.

It's a really good time, honestly! Even if the magic management can be a pain and some enemies are just the worst to fight... Just like Zelda!

So, what track am I going to showcase? Well, I was going to go for the Magic Room theme, which is very Golden Axe, but I figured I'd go with the 『Overworld』theme as it is the one you will probably be hearing the most.

Graciously, in my opinion, it's a solid track and provides a suitable backing to wandering aimlessly around trying to stumble into the next dungeon or searching for secret rooms!

The game is worth playing if you enjoy classic Zelda, as it is a great alternative!

So, very rarely will I start to talk about a game on here shortly after playing it.

But today, I started playing Golden Axe Warrior for the #MasterSystem and my word, I am really looking forward to this!

Firstly, what we have here is a game that is so very NES Zelda that I would say anyone who is an old school Zelda fan really needs to check this out!

I am not too far into in, just two dungeons deep, but so far i am really enjoying the offering here. I have a sword and an axe. The axe can be used to cut down trees and find hidden staircases, as well as be used as an upgrade to your basic sword. There are also magical spells that you can learn!

There are so many things to discover as I try to gather the 9 crystals to defeat Death Adder.

Who you calling #Retro ?

:sonic: The Sega Master System will never die. Had an infant try to murder it for about 5 yrs, would still boot to the Easter egg secret game if I knew where we put it.

Anyway here is a great write up on how Brazil continues to keep #Sega hardware in retail all this time. & Why.
