Simple fitness tracker with watch, Pedometer, sleep tracker and calorie counter without Bluetooth and app connection instead of spying smartwatch and "health apps" such as Fitbit, Apple or Samsung Health
Manual recording of my health data such as blood pressure, blood sugar, sleep, steps and more in a LibreOffice Calc spreadsheet, can be easily converted into a PDF for my doctors to evaluate

Am I missing anything? Absolutely not! This setup works just as smoothly and conveniently as previous ecosystem solutions from Apple, Google or Samsung. Only with significantly more privacy, without tracking and surveillance by US Big Tech

Beobachtung:
Bin ich mit meinem #Notebook in einem #Freifunk-Knoten und bin ich mit meinem #Smartphone ebenfalls in, vermutlich, dem gleichen #Freifunkknoten, dann stellen das #Notebook und das #Smartphone über #KDEConnect miteinander eine Verbindung her.

Auch wenn mir der korrekte technische Begriff dafür gerade nicht einfallen mag, ich dachte Teilnehmer im Freifunknetzwerk wären über WLAN voneinander isoliert?

As you can clearly see my LAN has quite an amount of devices. All of these devices are being used by me.
They have specific purposes which makes my Android experience along with my Computing experience versatile and efficient.

I did not know how important KDE connect was for me. When I learned about it, I knew that it doesn't just enrich what I can do

KDE Connect is not a gimmick where I can control a Media Player, without any network connectivity by itself, from any of my KDE Connect devices. Many different functions can be handled smoothly without any problems, with the highest Speed that my wLAN can deliver from the point of my view of the LAN routers I have in my network.

Right now I'm using a wLAN router that is portable. This enables me to have the most efficient data transfer Speed between the devices I have on me without any snooping from any Big Company.

Honestly, a lot of the upcoming features coming to all the #Apple OSes like #iOS, #macOS, #iPadOS, #watchOS, etc. looks pretty exciting. The only thing that gives me the ick is the new "Liquid Glass" design that looks more like the Apple clones; #Huawei or #Vivo rather than Apple themselves - that being said, the recent few iOS updates have trained me into 'accepting' that Apple's becoming more and more like #Android (in a bad way) lol.

#AppleMusic's gotten some really nice updates that is making me question a lil bit more if I should stay with #Spotify, but maybe not enough to actually make the switch - #Karaoke heads would prolly go insane over the new update, allowing you to karaoke on your #AppleTV with your #iPhone pretty freaking seamlessly with Apple Music's huge library.

My only highlight for iOS is probably the incredibly minimal reduction in the enshittifaction of the Photos app that was introduced from iOS 18. Oh, I suppose there's call screening I've always wished for from Android - that's coming. The introduction of Live Activity and iPhone Mirroring combo on #macOS looks prettty sweet, allowing you to monitor your live activity progresses (i.e. deliveries) right from the menu bar, and interact with it on the iPhone, from your #Mac.

The biggest new thing announced in this #WWDC has to be the new additions to iPadOS including their new Windowing system - idc so much abt this, or abt making #iPad s more like Macs, but I know a lot of people do. iPads getting a menu bar is pretty sick tho. You could also now set the default app to open certain file types, like you typically could on a regular Mac/desktop.

One interesting thing tho is Apple now (seemingly, anyway) allowing for Background Tasks on iPads - pretty sure this is the common 'blocker' for things like #KDEConnect to work (almost) as seamlessly as Apple's own offerings like #AirDrop. I hope that is indeed the case, and I hope it'd make Apple less paranoid of allowing such a feature and lead it to eventually coming to iOS sooner than later.

When was the last time you have played with KDE Connect?

You've never heard of that? Let me enlighten you. KDE Connect is a suite of very handy Network tools, to get the maximum out of the transfer and the control of data & programs between your KDE computer and your Androids.

It is in fact so versatile that even if your KDE computers are not connected, you can still do a lot of things between your Androids which are running the network software suite.

There are so many things you can do you should just download it yourself and put it on your Androids

A few highlights are transferring files between your devices in a transparent manner where no company like Google can snoop anything

Controlling media players from 1 device through all the others.

Getting notifications between different devices and even getting output, graphical output from different devices on others.

Controlling your Android with a mouse from a KDE Connect computer

The list goes on

Note:
If you're running a Linux distro with a running firewall, you have to make sure that your firewall has all the ports open for KDE connect. There are examples of the ports needed, in the docs.

I use Synergy/Deskflow and Wayland has so many annoying quirks compared to X11. One quirk though, Copy/Paste works so awesome with #KDEConnect. Wow that app has blossomed in such amazing ways. I remember when it first came out, I tried it and quickly removed it. Such a great app!

Ahh... Al eem tijdje nieuw prepaid nummer voor mn reserve foon, maar nog nooit gebruikt of nummer gedeeld.

Word er ineens op gebeld... Nou spontaan maar geblokkeerd, want veel zinnigs kan dat niet zijn.

Handig trouwens dat KDEConnect. Dat geeft ook alle meldingen (indien gewenst) door aan andere apparaten in het netwerk.

Are there any advantages of PairDrop?

Grappig... Ik gebruik KDE Conn om van alles tussen mn apparaten (foon, PC, etc) te regelen. Na een storing moest voor internet alles opnieuw opgestart, maar KDE Connect bleef gewoon functioneren.

Die Gyroscope Mouse von #KDEConnect in #ZorinOS ist ja super.
Das muss ich heute Abend mal ausprobieren.
