Von Teilnehmern geteilte Videos zeigen deutlich eine Gruppe weiß gekleideter Männer, die von der Polizei verfolgt werden und Müll und offenbar Wasser auf die Aktivisten werfen. Die ägyptischen Behörden beschlagnahmten die Pässe derjenigen, die den Kontrollpunkt passieren wollten, und die <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Sicherheitskr%C3%A4fte" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Sicherheitskräfte</span></a> wurden angewiesen, Gewalt anzuwenden, falls die <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Demonstranten" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Demonstranten</span></a> versuchen sollten, den Kontrollpunkt gewaltsam zu passieren.</p><p>
Noch bevor der Marsch überhaupt begonnen hatte, tauchten Polizisten in Zivil in Kairos Hotels auf, mit einer Liste von Namen von Personen, die verhört, festgenommen oder abgeschoben werden sollten. Hunderte von Menschen wurden an Flughäfen in Ägypten <a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/egypt-detains-and-deports-pro-palestine-activists-hundreds-arrive-cairo-gaza-march" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">festgenommen</a>, obwohl die Behörden keine rechtlichen Gründe dafür nannten. </p><p><strong>Systematische Aushungerung</strong></p><p>Anfang 2025 trat im israelischen <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Parlament" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Parlament</span></a> die Kriminalisierung des Hilfswerks der Vereinten Nationen für <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Pal%C3%A4stinafl%C3%BCchtlinge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Palästinaflüchtlinge</span></a> im Nahen Osten (UNRWA) in Kraft, die es der UN-Organisation verbietet, innerhalb des Staates Israel tätig zu sein, und der Regierung jegliche Kommunikation mit der <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/UNRWA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>UNRWA</span></a> untersagt. Dies war die Zeit des Waffenstillstands, als etwa 500 bis 600 Lastwagen mit humanitären Hilfsgütern in den <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Gazastreifen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Gazastreifen</span></a> einfahren durften.</p><p>
Etwa einen Monat später wurde die Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) in <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Delaware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Delaware</span></a> (USA) und <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Genf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Genf</span></a> (Schweiz) gegründet. Diese aus verschiedenen Briefkastenfirmen bestehende und informell von Tony Blair beratene US-amerikanisch-israelische Initiative <a href="https://archive.ph/2025.05.21-042013/https:/www.ft.com/content/ae191ff4-916c-4cc3-8a93-631754bcba90" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">ersetzte</a> ein 75 Jahre altes humanitäres <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Verteilungsnetzwerk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Verteilungsnetzwerk</span></a> durch eine Gruppe bewaffneter Söldner.</p><p>
Obwohl die UNRWA über das Personal und die Beziehungen zur Bevölkerung verfügt, um die Hilfe für eine hungernde Bevölkerung an über 400 Standorten effektiv und sicher zu verwalten, hat die <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/GHF" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GHF</span></a> stattdessen vier „Mega-Standorte” eingerichtet, an denen Menschen in Pferche und Käfige gepfercht werden. Es gibt nicht genug Vorräte für den Bedarf, und laut dem <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Gesundheitsministerium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Gesundheitsministerium</span></a> von Gaza sind mehr als 220 Palästinenser bei dem Versuch, Hilfe zu erhalten, ums Leben gekommen.</p><p>
Anwar Hamad ist eine 38-jährige Mutter aus dem Lager <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Jabalya" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Jabalya</span></a> und berichtet einer <a href="https://www.btselem.org/press_releases/20250505_devastation_bombing_and_starvation_israel_is_destroying_life_in_gaza" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Feldforscherin</a> von B'Tselem im April von ihren <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Lebensbedingungen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Lebensbedingungen</span></a> und dem Kampf um <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Nahrung" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Nahrung</span></a>.</p><p>
„Ich bin Angestellte bei der UNRWA, aber ich kann mein Gehalt nicht von der Bank abheben, weil es kein Bargeld gibt ... Der Hunger, den wir jetzt erleben, ist der schlimmste seit Beginn des Krieges. Das macht uns fertig“, sagt sie, „wir sind alle schwach und abgemagert.“</p><p>
„Wie lange soll das noch so weitergehen? Ich bin nur eine von zwei Millionen Menschen, die im Gazastreifen festsitzen. Wir sind mit <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Bombenangriffen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Bombenangriffen</span></a> und Morden, Hunger und Durst konfrontiert ... Sie haben uns zu Menschen gemacht, die nur noch von Essen träumen“, sagte Anwer.</p><p>

Es war offensichtlich, dass Hunger zu einem kritischen Problem wurde. Warum also hat Israel das einzige wirksame System zur Verteilung von Hilfsgütern in Gaza verboten?</p><p>

„Die UNRWA hatte und hat immer noch die Möglichkeit, meinen Sohn zurückzubringen, aber sie entscheidet sich dagegen. Die UNRWA ist eine terroristische Organisation, deren Mitarbeiter am 7. Oktober beteiligt waren“, behauptet Kobi.</p><p>
„Ich habe viel Gewicht verloren und meine psychische Gesundheit war sehr schlecht“, erzählt Hala Sha’sha’ah gegenüber B’Tselem in Gaza-Stadt. „Ich hatte nicht genug Geld, um Essen und andere lebensnotwendige Dinge zu kaufen. Ich habe mir Geld von Freunden und Verwandten geliehen, nur um zu überleben. Manchmal bekamen wir Essen, manchmal nicht. Aber als der Krieg wieder losging und die Grenzübergänge wieder geschlossen wurden, verschlechterte sich die Lage in jeder Hinsicht.“</p><p>
Ende Mai drang eine Gruppe von Israelis unter der Führung eines Knesset-Abgeordneten, begleitet von den Medien und unter Beobachtung der Polizei, in das Gelände der UNRWA in <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Ostjerusalem" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Ostjerusalem</span></a> ein und erklärte die Einrichtung der Vereinten Nationen in den besetzten palästinensischen Gebieten zu einem neuen israelischen Stadtteil.</p><p>
</p><p><strong>Die Frucht eines Lebens</strong></p><p>
Vor drei Jahren blickte Madelyn Culab vom <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Fischereihafen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Fischereihafen</span></a> von Gaza-Stadt auf das Mittelmeer. Madelyn war schwanger und legte ihre Hand auf ihren Bauch, während sie auf die Rückkehr ihres Mannes Khadr vom <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Fischen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Fischen</span></a> wartete. Die <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Blockade" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Blockade</span></a> des Gazastreifens wurde von Israel vor fast zwei Jahrzehnten verhängt und umfasst auch ein Verbot des <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Fischfangs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Fischfangs</span></a> vor der Küste des Gazastreifens.</p><p>
Madelyn fischt seit ihrer Kindheit mit ihrem Vater. „Ich fuhr mit dem Ruderboot aufs Meer hinaus und mein Vater wartete am Strand auf mich. Dann wurde er krank und konnte nicht mehr laufen, also fing ich an, allein zu fischen, um meine Familie zu ernähren“, erzählt Madelyn Maram Humaid für Al-Jazeera.</p><p>
Nach dem Massaker an 2.200 Palästinensern im Gazastreifen im Jahr 2014 wurden viele <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Fischerboote" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Fischerboote</span></a> durch israelische <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Luftangriffe" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Luftangriffe</span></a> beschädigt, darunter auch der Motor von Khadr Bakrs Boot. Ohne Boot konnte er nicht fischen. Da traf er Madelyn, die ihm anbot, ihr Boot zu benutzen. Von da an gingen sie zusammen fischen und passten gegenseitig auf, um nicht von der israelischen Marine abgefangen zu werden. Madelyn und Khadr verliebten sich ineinander.</p><p>
„Fischen ist schön, aber an einem Ort wie dem Meer vor dem Gazastreifen ist es sehr schwierig“, sagte Madelyn im Jahr 2022. Jedes Mal, wenn ein Boot von Israel beschädigt wird, müssen sie 10.000 Dollar leihen, um es zu ersetzen. Doch das Boot ist für seine Einkommensquelle und Ernährung unverzichtbar. „In Gaza ist es schlimm“, sagte sie, „und es wird immer schlimmer.“</p><p>
Im November 2023 musste Madelyns Familie auf Anweisung der israelischen Armee, die ihnen Sicherheit garantierte, aus Gaza-Stadt nach Khan Yunis fliehen. Humanitäre Korridore wurden eingerichtet und dann bombardiert. Madelyn lebte mit vierzig Menschen in einer kleinen Wohnung, als die Wehen einsetzten.</p><p>
„Es war eine schwierige, brutale Geburt“, erinnert sich Madelyn. „Keine Schmerzlinderung, keine medizinische Versorgung. Ich musste das Krankenhaus direkt nach der Geburt verlassen. Wegen der vielen Verletzten gab es keine Betten.“</p><p>
Von Khan Yunis floh Madelyns Familie nach Rafah, Deir el-Balah, <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Nuseirat" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Nuseirat</span></a> und kehrte dann nach Gaza-Stadt zurück, wo sie jetzt in den Überresten ihres teilweise zerstörten Hauses lebt. Israel hat sowohl ihre Boote als auch einen Lagerraum für die Angelausrüstung zerstört. „Wir haben alles verloren“, sagt Madelyn, „die Früchte eines ganzen Lebens ... jetzt ist Fisch zu teuer, wenn man ihn überhaupt noch findet.“</p><p>
„Nur wenige Fischer haben noch Ausrüstung, und sie riskieren ihr Leben, um ein bisschen zu fangen. Alles hat sich verändert. Wir sehnen uns jetzt inmitten der <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Hungersnot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Hungersnot</span></a>, die wir durchleben, nach Fisch“, sagt sie.</p><p>
Madelyn wurde zur Inspiration für den Namen „Madleen“ – ein Schiff unter britischer Flagge, das von <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Palermo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Palermo</span></a> auf <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Sizilien" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Sizilien</span></a> aus über das Mittelmeer zur Küste des Gazastreifens fuhr. An Bord waren zwölf Menschen aus Frankreich, <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Deutschland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Deutschland</span></a>, den <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Niederlanden" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Niederlanden</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Brasilien" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Brasilien</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Spanien" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Spanien</span></a> und der <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/T%C3%BCrkei" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Türkei</span></a>, darunter der Journalist Yanis <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Mhamdi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Mhamdi</span></a>, die symbolische Hilfsgüter für die zwei Millionen hungernden Menschen in Gaza mitbrachten.</p><p>
Die Symbolik lag darin, die Blockade humanitärer Hilfe zu durchbrechen. Yanis schreibt aus seiner Gefängniszelle in Israel über die Ereignisse. „Am Montag, dem 9. Juni, gegen 2 Uhr morgens stürmte die israelische Armee das Schiff, das sich in internationalen Gewässern befand. Der Angriff erfolgte ohne Vorwarnung, nachdem uns <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Drohnen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Drohnen</span></a> geschickt worden waren. Die <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Soldaten" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Soldaten</span></a> enterten das Schiff.“</p><p>
Die Quadcopter-Drohnen sollen ein unbekanntes weißes Reizmittel über das ganze Schiff versprüht haben, während sie von der israelischen <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Marine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Marine</span></a> umzingelt waren. „Einer der Soldaten hat seine Waffe auf mich gerichtet und gedroht zu schießen, wenn ich die Kamera nicht runternehme“, erinnert sich Yanis. Sie wurden mehrere Stunden lang in der Kälte auf See festgehalten und dann, „als die Sonne am höchsten stand“, in der Hitze der Kabinen festgehalten.</p><p>
Nach ihrer Überführung in den Hafen von Ashdod wurden sie durchsucht und in Gewahrsam genommen. „Zum Glück war ich mit den anderen Mitgliedern der <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Segelyacht" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Segelyacht</span></a> in einer Zelle ... zum Glück sind wir alle zusammen. Das hält uns aufrecht. Am Mittwoch, dem 11. Juni, brachten die Wachen Tiago (Ávila) in Einzelhaft, weil er sich weigerte zu essen.“
</p><p><strong>Geiselnahme</strong></p>
Acht der zwölf Passagiere an Bord der Madleen wurden sofort festgenommen, nachdem sie sich geweigert hatten, zu „gestehen“, illegal nach Israel einreisen zu wollen. Vier wurden abgeschoben.<p>
Die französische Staatsbürgerin Rima <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Hassan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Hassan</span></a> wurde in Einzelhaft gesteckt, nachdem sie „Free Palestine“ an die Wände des Gefängnisses geschrieben hatte. Der brasilianische Staatsbürger Thiago <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/%C3%81vila" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Ávila</span></a> wurde nach einem <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Hungerstreik" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Hungerstreik</span></a> in Einzelhaft gesteckt. Allen wurde der <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Rechtsbeistand" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Rechtsbeistand</span></a> verweigert, und sie wurden während ihrer Haft von ihren Freunden und Angehörigen isoliert.</p><p>
Trotzdem gelang es Thiago, seiner einjährigen Tochter einen Brief aus dem Gefängnis zu schicken. „Es tut mir leid, dass ich gerade nicht bei dir bin, aber Papa versucht, anderen Kindern, die so schön sind wie du, Essen zu bringen, die leider von Leuten ausgehungert werden, die nicht verstehen, dass jeder Mensch das Recht hat, frei zu leben”, schrieb er in einem Brief, der von seiner Frau Lara öffentlich vorgelesen wurde.</p><p>
„Dein Vater ist einer von Millionen Menschen, die jetzt etwas tun, um die größte Verletzung unserer Generation zu stoppen ... indem sie demonstrieren, Fabriken stören, Medienblockaden durchbrechen und Boykotte organisieren, und vor allem jeden Palästinenser, der seit acht Jahrzehnten unter <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/V%C3%B6lkermord" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Völkermord</span></a> leidet“, schrieb Thiago.</p><p>
Nach der Abschiebung von neun Aktivisten sind nur noch drei in Haft, darunter Yanis. „Laut meinem Anwalt“, sagte er, „bin ich der Letzte, der nach Hause darf, damit das den nächsten Journalisten als Beispiel dient.“ Er sollte eigentlich am 13. abreisen, aber die militärische <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Eskalation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Eskalation</span></a> mit dem <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Iran" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Iran</span></a> und die vorübergehende Schließung der israelischen Flughäfen waren der Grund dafür, dass er über einen Monat länger in Haft blieb. Wie die jüngsten Ereignisse gezeigt haben, konnten sie Israel auf dem Land- oder Seeweg verlassen.</p><p>
„Das ist keine Inhaftierung“, schreibt die <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/FreedomFlotillaCoalition" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FreedomFlotillaCoalition</span></a> in einer Erklärung, „das ist <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Geiselnahme" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Geiselnahme</span></a>.“</p><p>
Nach intensivem Druck hat die israelische Regierung drei der letzten Gefangenen der Flottille stillschweigend über die Grenze nach <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Jordanien" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Jordanien</span></a> entlassen. Der Global March to Gaza wurde daran gehindert, den Sinai zu betreten, da auch die ägyptischen Behörden eine Verantwortung für den Völkermord an ihren Grenzen tragen. „Das sind Menschen, die sich geweigert haben, tatenlos zuzusehen, wie das Völkerrecht ständig verletzt und ein Völkermord an den Palästinensern begangen wird“, sagte Schweizer.</p><p>
„Sie haben sich entschieden, friedlich und im Rahmen des Gesetzes zu handeln, um die Prinzipien zu verteidigen, für die die Welt angeblich steht“, fügte sie hinzu. „Die Maßnahmen der Marschorganisatoren und der ägyptischen Behörden haben die Botschaften weltweit mit der politischen und moralischen Verpflichtung konfrontiert, die ihre Bürger in der Beendigung des Völkermords an den Palästinensern sehen.“</p><p>
„Wir leben wieder in Angst und Panik, ohne Sicherheit“, sagte Hala Sha’sha’ah gegenüber B’Tselem. „Die Märkte sind jetzt wieder leer und wir leiden Hunger.“</p><p>
„Unser Leid ist unermesslich.
