Deep space seems rather hostile.

Like, difficult to adapt biologically.

We don't yet understand the long term effect of the changes in time cycles and gravity on the human mind except, perhaps, for humans held in darkness for extended periods.
Perhaps a limiting factor for any expanding civilization.

How Hot Can It Get? #Scientists Are Struggling to Find an Answer
Figuring out how anomalously high #temperatures can rise is taking on added importance as planet warms.
Answer has grave implications for #humanity, from those living in places where high temperatures are currently rare to those in places increasingly on the edge of habitability as #climatechange makes heat more intense and frequent. Everyone, everywhere, needs to know risks about where they live.

This is a very important video on how mass society can abandon rational thought and adopt dangerous and misinformed ideas. It’s not about evils, lack of intelligence or lack of education. It’s about the vulnerabilities of our minds, especially, when under physical or economic pressure. Please watch and share widely. #philosophy #socialmedia #Humanity

I have #hope for #humanity most of the time as I do believe most people don't have ill intentions, they are often simply mislead, selfish, or ignorant.

However from time to time I hear stories that make me facepalm, and want to vomit.

Someone on the #tourettes subreddit on #reddit pointed out to me that people lurk there who fetishize TS and respond to every girl who posts, sometimes men too.

A massive issue when 90% of people with TS are minors who won't get left alone.

The number of people without access to electricity has been cut by 292 million in the last decade - despite the global population increasing by around 760 million during the same period.

That means 92% of humanity now has electricity, up from 87% in 2010. Increasingly, that electrification is being driven by renewables, and hundreds of millions more people are no longer cooking over open stoves
