@BrideOfLinux #darktable is OK.
The problem is #gimp .
The UI of Gimp is awkwardly nerdy.
And then, impossible to make them work together on Linux Mint.

The story is not very friendly to women’s rights, as you might guess from the bull & naked woman.
This one was... exciting to scan, 18½x11¾ or so inches, two multi-gigabyte images to stitch together in GIMP (the bok margins meant i had to scan some margin too so it was larger than the A3+ scan are) and a seam to clone out. Then G'MIC to descreen.
GIMP experts: is there a setting I haven't found to configure the file picker to display file/folder names alphabetically ignoring case?
When I go to open/export a file all the names with an uppercase first letter are displayed first, then the files/folder names with a lowercase first character are displayed. This is driving me crazy. I want the whole list alphabetical regardless of case.
Thanks. I'm using ver 3. macOS.

I did a lot of editing on this gradient. Duplicated a built-in preset, added my colour stops, moved them around, changed the segments' colour spaces and blending functions, edited the colours a whole lot, etc.
The entire undo history GIMP gives me is one item: "Gradient" - and it's not even editing the gradient, it's the action of putting it in the canvas.
That's a fundamental, gross UX failure.
Disabling all system sounds in #KDE does turn off the incessant beeps and bops that #GIMP is making all the time now out of a sudden.
But now I don't have any system sounds, which isn't what I want.
I just want GIMP to shut up. I can't even mute the window because it's system sounds and not GIMP sounds, from what I am able to determine.
Anyone got any ideas how to make GIMP shut up?
(On #Manjaro, in case that matters.)
