Hmm, something changed in a recent #Fedora 38 Gnome update. It no longer shows when Bluetooth devices are connected in the status tray so I keep leaving my headphones turned on, so they go flat or miss notification sounds when I've taken them off and forgot to power them off.

I'm getting it again. After a reboot opening a file dialog in Gnome cause the app to hang for a period of time.

After a while this stops happening, but I'd like to know what the cause is.

TIL: #Fedora39 updated its #ext4 mke2fs defaults compared to #Fedora38, also adding `orphan_file`

I found that out, because unlike Fedora, which brings mke2fs 1.47.0, #LineageOS builds use 1.45.4 which doesn't support this newer option

Why I have issues with #systemd . Or perhaps #Fedora38 .

One thing which really grinds my gears:

Using #GoogleMeet on #Fedora38 with a #nvidia GPU (with Xorg).

Everytime there is a driver update, I can't use #Vivaldi or #Chromium and have to resort to #Chrome because the effects and background blurring don't work anymore. After a few days there's usually another xorg, vulkan or nvidia hotfix(?) and I can change browsers again.

And yes: Firefox is no option with Google Apps.

Upgrading my VPS to #fedora38 #linux . People with beards, wish me luck!

Fedora 38 läuft auf dem alten XPS. Wie immer war das Update auf die neuste Version kein Problem. Gerade beim updaten kann und sollte sich Microsoft etwas mehr von Linux inspirieren lassen. Es ist mir unbegreiflich, warum MS als "Massensystem" für "0815-User" dies nicht besser umsetzen kann.

Strange... all of a sudden my computer doesn't recognize bluetooth devices like my headphones anymore under Fedora 38... but when I install another SSD with Fedora 37 or Windows 10, bluetooth works without problems. And I'm using Fedora 38 since the first beta, and had no problems with Bluetooth connections until now. Now not a single device is found or recognized. Update nightmare?
