Je me suis remis à bidouiller mon #CheapYellowDisplay autrement appelé CYD, un #ESP32 avec un écran TFT et d'autres périphériques. J'ai joué avec #esphome et @homeassistant, y a du LVGL aussi (cf ma tentative de reusage de la liseuse cassée). J'ai réussi à utiliser SDL pour itérer sur le graphisme sans avoir à flasher l'appareil. À voir si ces communautés acceptent mes contributions de documentation.

I wanted to get into #OpenEPaperLink myself, but no ESLs* available here in Germany for a reasonable price, but I found some #Pricer ones. But they are controlled by IR. Luckily, @furrtek sells an IR sender for these ESLs. Let's see how it'll work. If it does, I'll try to port it to #Rust to be used with an #ESP32.

*ESLs: Electronic Shelf Labels: 1-2" #ePaper displays to display pricing info in stores. They are attractive, as the cost 1-2€/pcs used.

If the #RP2350 or the #RP2040 from #RaspberryPi had wireless built in at the same cost, #Espressif would be dead (at leas the base #ESP32). What do you think?

Bei #Hornbach gab mal ein geniales #Bewässerungssystem der Eigenmarke for_q, bei dem der Steuercomputer und die Ventile physisch getrennt waren und mit einem Käbelchen verbunden wurden. Genial deshalb, weil es Solid-State-Ventile waren, kurz mal -6V/+6V anlegen, und sie machten auf oder zu. Statt des originalen Steuercomputers einen #ESP32 mit #ESPHome rangeklöppelt, hatte man eine MQTT-Bewässerung.

Bei den neuen Geräten sind der Computer und Ventile untrennbar in einem Gehäuse.
