I've been almost exclusively playing argps as of late, here's my express and absolutely subjective review for all of them.
- #LastEpoch : excellent skill tree, cool crafting, way too much fucking loot with way too many fucking stats. Turns into garbage collector before endgame. Nice game tho, played it for 100h.
- #PathOfExile2 : super pretty, nice dark mood, cool campaign. Hopefully this game will find what it wants to be by 1.0, because I want to like it, but can't.
- #Diablo4 : pretty, incredibly optimized for mobile devices. Clearly has daddy issues and wants to be like Diablo III with its own twist (but hasn't any idea of what the twist should be). Becomes a bit more cringe each season.
- #Diablo3 : best couch co-op game on consoles, still the GOAT of brainless fun arcade monster killing. Dumb as fuck, and owns it.
- #Slormancer : also dumb as fuck, also 100% owns it. Loved it for 40 hours. Now I'm waiting for a few visual bugs to finally get fixed. Hopefully will get a few content updates in 2026. Buy it, it's worth its full price.
- #Torchlight2 : spiritual sequel to Diablo 2: simple skill tree, simple stats, good itemization. Has a pet that can go back to town to sell your stuff and buy potions, best feature ever.
- #GrimDawn :
- #Diablo2Resurrected : nice coat of paint, painful to play in 2025. Play it to remind you of all these LAN nights that are gone and won't come back.
- #ProjectDiablo2 : D2 itemization, D2 mood, D2 gameplay, but many QoL enhancements to make it palatable in 2025. Still kinda feels old, but it's the best ARPG I've played this year and it's a free mod with online support. 10/10.
