I accidentally started talking to the only Trumper I know again. I thought I had radicalized him last year but then I made the mistake of mentioning that my german born grandpa who fought for the US in WWII was antifa, and I lost him. So I gave up.

He works in the emergency room in the hospital I go to. With all the confidence in the world he told me yesterday that the hospital was giving the employees placebo Covid #vaccinations.

I’m quite sure this isn’t true, but I think I need to say something to my PCP today because my PCP is part of that hospital system and he’s the one who tries to help me not go to the ER when I have a migraine.

Would you say something? He already understands that I want to not have to go to the ER so adding one more reason why isn’t particularly necessary.

But maybe he’ll understand why I’m so extra about my #Covid precautions. Maybe I’ll be starting a whole bunch of drama for no reason.

What would you do?

Did you hear about that new Covid and flu mRNA combo vaccine in the making?

Large trial seems to show the shot performs even better than both vaccines taken separately. It’s probably not coming this autumn, but I still find it quite exciting.

Abstract
Patients with long COVID and myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) suffer from a reduced exercise capacity, skeletal muscle abnormalities and post-exertional malaise (PEM), where symptoms worsen with cognitive or physical exertion. PEM often results in avoidance of physical activity, resulting in a lower aerobic fitness, which may contribute to skeletal muscle abnormalities. Here, we compared whole-body exercise responses and skeletal muscle adaptations after strict 60-day bed rest in healthy people with those in patients with long COVID and ME/CFS, and healthy age- and sex-matched controls. Bed rest altered the respiratory and cardiovascular responses to (sub)maximal exercise, while patients exhibited respiratory alterations only at submaximal exercise. Bed rest caused muscle atrophy, and the reduced oxidative phosphorylation related to reductions in maximal oxygen uptake. Patients with long COVID and ME/CFS did not have muscle atrophy, but had less capillaries and a more glycolytic fibers, none of which were associated with maximal oxygen uptake. While the whole-body aerobic capacity is similar following bed rest compared to patients, the skeletal muscle characteristics differed, suggesting that physical inactivity alone does not explain the lower exercise capacity in long COVID and ME/CFS

Five years ago, #Trump was mismanaging the #COVID pandemic. On April 23rd, he suggested Dr. Birx look into injecting bleach in the body to clean out the COVID. He also suggested inserting ultraviolet light inside the body. It led to the famous Dr. Fauci meme.

Five years later, we have a measles outbreak. We likely will have more contagious diseases in the next three and a half years.

We don’t have Dr. Fauci. We have a science denying, anti-vaccine, former heroine addict running our HHS.
