It's not much, but I have a rough pre-MVP release plan at https://github.com/deadbeefmonster/NecroNeon_BBS/blob/monster/TODO.md
Will change as I go through it all, but it is nice to have a plan and put off doing things I can get distracted with (just knowing it is on the roadmap is good enough).

Allen Anderson, a veteran SNES coder, and one of the key programmers behind Rock n’ Roll Racing. Starting as a teenage game cracker in Arkansas, he shares how hacking games led him into the industry, the chaos of SNES development with homemade dev kits, and how he programmed the Game Genie under insane deadlines, and the story behind the legendary cancelled Sega Saturn title, Propaganda.

Just a couple of hours left before our hands-on workshop. I created this slide to better explain how we can zero-proof the signature of a committed public key to allow "holder binding" with "BBS" signatures.
I left out a lot of details, but it still looks overloaded :)

Will be a learning experience.
Hey, I'm chasing that early computing life I wasn't able to have myself and was fascinated by, and ultimately what got me into computing and keeps me in computing.
Not ashamed to admit it.
- Working on learning to code #C64 assembly and #8BitComputing in general.
- Working on learning exactly all a #BBS actually is and coding one.
- Reusing existing skillsets for coding/sysadmin/dba/hacker for it, but in this origin story #nostalgia I never got in its entirety.
I saw a tape deck at a 2nd hand store the other day and was reminded of a math teacher showing me it could be used for data storage with computers.
I also feel fortunate that at this stage in my life I'm secure in my career (as much as I can be anyway), so I can relax a little on the hustle of skill improvement solely for work and all that.

Has anyone read "Commodork: Sordid Tales from a BBS Junkie" && what is your opinion?

I'm looking to code a #BBS - something I didn't expect to have to figure out: what exactly is a BBS defined as?
Does it need telnet (would prefer ssh, was thinking a "login shell" that spawned the bbs program folks can then log in to and all that)? If so, why is that important?
Does it need to support classic BBS protocols?
What features are required for a 1.0 MVP?
I just came across Retrocomb's video on how to connect to the BBS via a Plus/4. Thanks for the callout!

Hey #GenX. Remember when calling a BBS in a nearby area code resulted in $100s in long distance charges - giving rise to carriers like Sprint & MCI?
I once called a #BBS in my own area code thinking it was local & my Dad got a $500 #longdistance bill.
