I'm curious to hear what others are #SelfHosting! Here's my current setup:

Hardware & OS

Infrastructure & Networking

Security & Monitoring

Authentication & Identity Management

  • Authelia (Docker): Just set this up for two-factor authentication and single sign-on. Seems to be working well so far!
  • LLDAP (Docker): Lightweight LDAP server for managing authentication. Also seems to be working pretty well!
    #AuthenticationTools #IdentityManagement

Productivity & Personal Tools

Notifications & Development Workflow

  • Notifications via: #Ntfy (Docker) and Zoho's ZeptoMail (#Zoho)
  • Development Environment: Mostly using VSCode connected to my server via Remote-SSH extension. #VSCodeRemote

Accessibility Focus ♿🖥️

Accessibility heavily influences my choices—I use a screen reader full-time (#ScreenReader), so I prioritize services usable without sight (#InclusiveDesign#DigitalAccessibility). Always open to discussing accessibility experiences or recommendations!

I've also experimented with:

  • Ollama (#Ollama): Not enough RAM on my Pi.
  • Habit trackers like Beaver Habit Tracker (#HabitTracking): Accessibility issues made it unusable for me.

I don't really have a media collection, so no Plex or Jellyfin here (#MediaServer)—but I'm always open to suggestions! I've gotten a bit addicted to exploring new self-hosted services! 😄

What's your setup like? Any cool services you'd recommend I try?

Good morning, everyone! 🌞 I hope you're all having a great day so far. I just woke up not too long ago and treated myself to leftover chocolate birthday cake, chocolate ice cream, and a glass of milk for breakfast—because why not? 🍫🍰 Now, I'm sipping on a cup of coffee ☕ and getting ready to tackle the day.

Here's what's on my agenda:
- Work on Lesson 15 of my Braille proofreading course.
- Spend some time learning with Codecademy's full-stack engineering career path and the fundamentals of cybersecurity skill path.
- Check and respond to emails.
- Telehealth appointment with my gastroenterologist. Need to get on the patient portal and find out what time this is because I don't remember.
- Make a couple of important phone calls:
- Schedule an appointment with a rheumatologist to confirm whether I have rheumatoid arthritis or lupus (I've been dealing with joint pain and tenderness, and lab results suggest it could be either).
- Reschedule a missed dental appointment.
- Contact my health insurance and primary care doctor about getting an adjustable bed to help with my health conditions.

It's shaping up to be a busy day, but I'm feeling motivated! What about you? What are you working on or looking forward to today? Let’s chat! 😊

Hi, all! How is everyone today? I slept all day yesterday and started my day at 2:30 AM this morning, so I'm doing good. I slept about 15 hours yesterday. 😴 Lol my mom said I was talking in my sleep, which I don't think I've ever done before, and it sounded like Chinese. No idea what that was about! 😂

Working on programming stuff with #Codecademy (I use both it and #freeCodeCamp), about to take a look at a #JavaScript book I'll be transcribing into #Braille and proofreading. I'll be getting something to eat soon too. #ProgrammingLife #AccessibleTech #BrailleProofreading

Hello, caneandable.social! I'm Lanie, a 33-year-old #Christian woman from Pipe Creek, TX. I'm #aroace, #TotallyBlind, #ActuallyAutistic, and living with multiple #ChronicIllnesses. I've just moved over from tweesecake.social, so I'm excited to meet new people and reconnect with familiar faces!

A bit about me:
- I live with my mom and stepdad, who are my caregivers
- I have a Miniature Pinscher named Squeaker
- Currently studying programming on freeCodeCamp.org and codecademy.com and Braille proofreading through the NFB
- I work as a usability tester and aspire to become an #accessibility consultant
- My goal is to create a nonprofit for people with multiple #disabilities

My interests include:
- #Gaming (especially accessible games like incremental/idle games, word games, puzzles, RPGs, roguelikes, and MUDs)
- #Technology and #Cybersecurity
- #RareDiseases and #DisabilityRights
- Reading (sci-fi, fantasy, thrillers, mysteries, and nonfiction)
- Swimming
- Gardening (planning to start soon!)

I'm passionate about #accessibility and creating a more inclusive digital world. I run online groups for people with multiple disabilities and am active in the #DisabilityCommunity.

Some of my #health conditions include occipital neuralgia, intracranial hypertension, Empty Sella Syndrome, fibromyalgia, hidradenitis suppurativa, GERD, gastroparesis, IBS, sleep apnea, migraines, and non-24-hour sleep-wake disorder.

I use various devices to navigate the digital world, including a Windows computer, iPhone, Android tablet, Fire TV, Echo Dot, Apple Watch, wireless headphones, and a Braille display. #AssistiveTechnology

I'm always eager to connect with others who share similar experiences or interests. Feel free to reach out, especially if you're into #AccessibleTech, #DisabilityAdvocacy, or if you just want to chat about books, games, or life with multiple disabilities!

Hey #ux or #interfaceDesign folks, is there ever a good reason to make a password field unpasteable? Even if you don’t like things like automated password filling and want to try to block password managers, I can’t not paste them from somewhere else. My memory isn’t great and so pasting in passwords is the #accessibility feature I use so that I can have secure passwords that are different for each site. It’s always jarring to have to copy it out by hand, often feels like a janky experience
