Instance admin just lost their job, might need help is one of the largest and nicest instances on the Fediverse, run by an enthusiastic admin called @stux

Unfortunately Stux has today found out that they are fired from their day job 😞

However, by happy coincidence, Stux had just set up a hosting company. If you need web hosting, domain names etc please consider using Stuxhost so that Stux can continue working:

@FediFollows @stux what is the cost for a mail 📬 Server? Domain is my own.

@BollerwagenPicard @FediFollows

For that the smallest hosting package will do I think :thinktink: The mail services costs more so this would be the most cheapest with full control, secure mail servers and even webmail 😉

@FediFollows @BollerwagenPicard Those are for extra email services like filters and archiving :blobcathearts:

Perhaps I can create a "special email-only" package for that! 😉

@FediFollows @BollerwagenPicard

I'm creating new email-only packages with lower prices :blobcathearts:

It's the same as hosting only smaller and limited website caps!

I have unlimited bandwith, email accounts, forwarders etc but I do gonna set max inbox site

What would be hood for email?

or something?

@stux @FediFollows @BollerwagenPicard You only need something like 5GB if you're keeping all your emails on the server, or if you get a *lot* of email. If Stuxhost supports something like IMAP, I don't see a reason anyone should need more than 500MB (enough for 100 max-size emails), unless that bandwidth is *truly* unlimited.

Then again, I barely use email and am unlikely to ever get an email-only plan, so I'm mostly trying to invoke Cunningham's Law.

@stux @FediFollows @BollerwagenPicard i delete mail from the remote after retrieving, but my stats. i'd estimate that my gib/# email ratio is quite higher than normal because i send and receive lots of images and other attachments.
